The Eighteen Sound 12ND940 is a high‑power, extended low‑frequency neodymium transducer designed for top‑tier professional audio. As the improved successor to the 12ND930, the 12ND940 offers stronger construction and higher performance.
Its advanced design makes it ideal for 2‑way reflex cabinets, multi‑way systems, and compact subwoofers down to 70 litres, including reflex, bandpass, and horn‑loaded setups. The neodymium magnet ensures high flux, low power compression, and excellent heat dissipation, delivering strong power handling with a lightweight build.
A deep curvilinear wood‑pulp cone provides linear response, while the durable surround and humidity‑resistant cone treatment reduce resonance and aging. The 75 mm copper edge‑wound voice coil on a fibreglass former boosts reliability and power transfer. A built‑in Shorting Demodulating Ring (SDR) lowers distortion and stabilises impedance for cleaner, more consistent sound.
