The KEF Q550 is a 2.5-way floorstanding speaker which effortlessly delivers wide bandwidth and full scale: a lot more than its compact size suggests.
The Q550 delivers audiophile performance on a phenomenal level thanks to its KEF signature Uni-Q driver, a 130mm (5.25 inch) aluminium bass driver and two matching ABRs.
Furthermore the acoustic ideal of a single point source is closer than ever, with the Uni-Q driver array placing the tweeter in the centre of the midrange and bass cone.
This results in a more accurate three-dimensional sound, dispersed evenly throughout your room, and then enhanced by KEF’s ‘tangerine’ waveguide over the tweeter.
Driver improvements mean the DC blocking capacitor is eliminated from the crossover, allowing for enhancements midrange clarity, so there is a more natural roll-off between drivers.
Clarity is improved with the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) port design on the rear of the speaker, reducing the audibility of the midrange leakage through the port.
